Funnels

A funnel measures how visitors progress through an ordered sequence of recorded pageviews and custom events.

Create a funnel

  1. Open Funnels → New funnel.
  2. Give it a name.
  3. Add between two and twelve steps, each a Page path or Event name.
  4. Choose Create.

Page steps match exact recorded paths; event steps match exact names. Use the values visible in Pages and Events. A website can have up to 50 funnels.

Read the result

Choose a funnel and date range in the toolbar. The diagram and step table show reached steps, conversions and drop-off. Steps advance in time order for the reported visitor; a sequence can span sessions within the selected data.

Change the question

A funnel analyzes activity already collected; creating it does not install new tracking. Instrument missing custom events before expecting those steps to fill. To use a different definition, create another funnel. Deleting a funnel removes its saved definition, not the website’s event history.
