Raycast
Seean offers two ways to use Raycast on macOS: a local extension with an interactive website search and a menu-bar live counter, and a simpler Script Command built on the CLI. Both read the same analytics API with an API key you create; neither is published in the Raycast Store, so both are installed from the Seean source tree.
Extension: Search Websites and Live Visitors
The extension lives in tools/seean-raycast of the Seean repository and needs Node.js 22 or newer plus Raycast’s developer tools.
- Create an API key with
sites:readandanalytics:readunder Account → API access (a workspace key covers every website you own) or under a website’s Settings → API access. - In the repository, run
npm installinsidetools/seean-raycast, thennpm run build(this runs Raycast’sray build, which is part of@raycast/api). - In Raycast, choose Import Extension and select the
tools/seean-raycastfolder, or runnpm run devthere to load it in development mode. - Open the extension’s preferences and paste the key into Analytics API key. Leave Analytics endpoint at the default unless Settings → API access shows a different address; only the Seean endpoint or a local development endpoint is accepted.
Search Websites lists every website the key can read with its domain and live count; type to filter by name or domain. Each result opens its Overview, Realtime or Revenue page in the browser or copies the dashboard link. Counts that are still being calculated show Counting… and the list refreshes on its own for up to thirty seconds; a failed calculation, a revoked key or a missing permission shows the reason in a toast and an empty list.
Live Visitors adds the total number of visitors online across those websites to the menu bar and refreshes it every minute while the command is enabled in Raycast. Opening the menu lists each website with its own count (or counting) and opens its Realtime page; the last item opens the Seean app. Online uses the same two-minute window as the API. While any website’s count is still being calculated the menu bar shows … instead of a number (never a zero), and the command re-checks every few seconds for up to thirty seconds until every count has arrived.
The extension is read-only: it starts no analysis with filters, changes no settings and never stores anything beyond the preference values Raycast keeps for it. Remove the extension in Raycast to disconnect, and revoke its key in Seean to stop server access.
Script Command: Seean live
The Script Command prints the same live list without an interface and suits users who already have the CLI installed.
- Install the Seean CLI and verify
seean list_sites. - Create an API key with
sites:readandanalytics:read. Use a workspace key to see all websites you own. - Run
seean loginwith the key set in your local environment so Raycast can read the protected local configuration. - Locate
raycast.shin the installed package:npm root --globalshows the parent directory, followed byseean-mcp/raycast.sh. Copy that script to a directory you maintain for Raycast commands. - In Raycast settings → Extensions, use + → Add Script Directory and select that directory.
- Search for Seean live. Optionally enter part of a website name or domain, then run it.
These installation controls follow Raycast’s official Script Commands instructions.
The output includes the website name, domain, online count and its Seean dashboard URL. Pending or busy is displayed as a status, never a zero. Run the command again after a few seconds; it does not continuously poll or collect another copy of your analytics. No matching authorized websites produces an empty-state message; a revoked key, missing permission or network failure produces a failed command. If seean is not found, make the CLI executable available in Raycast’s PATH; the supplied script includes the usual Homebrew paths. No key belongs in the script or search argument.
The command is read-only. Other CLI/MCP management capabilities are not exposed by Raycast. Remove the Script Directory or script to disconnect, and revoke its API key to stop server access. See CLI credential storage.
