Account and sign-in
The Seean homepage, marketing pages and documentation share one fixed header size, logo, actions and horizontal spacing. Wide interior pages show Features, Pricing, Docs, Changelog and Live demo inline, with a thin divider below the header. The homepage keeps its borderless wave-shaped Menu. At narrower widths, interior pages use that same wave menu too. Use Sign in to access an existing account, or Start free for 15 days to open signup. On phones, Sign in moves inside the menu beside the compact signup action. You can also go directly to app.seean.io.
The menu contains Features, Pricing, Docs, Changelog, Live demo and Open the app. Open it with the two-line wave button; its lines animate into an X while the menu is open. Close it with that button or Escape. The wave keeps a 44 px touch target and remains available while the homepage film loads. Keyboard focus moves into the menu and returns to the button when it closes. The page behind it cannot be interacted with while it is open. Without JavaScript, the header shows ordinary navigation links instead.
The homepage trial action opens the signup page. In Start with your site, enter your site and work email, then choose Start free to continue to signup; a valid email is required. Finish creating your account and adding your site in the app; this form does not save a website or create an account. The dashboard preview on the homepage contains example data. Live demo opens the public demo website at /s/demo; no sign-in is needed.
The homepage begins with the opening film, then presents the dashboard and its related views together on a plain background. The preview stays in one place as scrolling moves from Overview to Realtime, Funnels and Performance; the explanation and related guide link change with that view. The four links below the preview jump to the corresponding point in this presentation. The screenshots contain example data, not live harbor activity or your account data. They are delivered at a size matched to your screen, from 768 to 2304 pixels wide, so a phone or a laptop never downloads the full-resolution file. The next cinematic chapter follows the tower, coast, gull flight and boat as one continuous sequence, with no product screen or photo between those clips. Pricing, questions, signup and the short Seean closing follow on the same plain background, ending at a decorative coastal painting with a white lighthouse and keeper’s cottage on the right, pale sea and softly lit cliffs. The panorama keeps its right-hand coastline visible as it crops to fit smaller screens.
Headings write progressively with your scroll; scrolling back reverses the reveal. The dashboard enters with its existing perspective reveal, then its report views blend within the same screen while their explanations change. The preview and its navigation stay visible throughout this presentation. The animated frame lines travel between every chapter and leave space around the text and dashboard previews. The dashboard and cinematic chapter retain their existing entrance reveals. Inside the tower-to-boat sequence, footage changes with a short scroll-controlled blend instead of restarting the section mask; the previous clip remains visible while the next clip prepares. Desktop movement smooths individual wheel steps with continuous damping, so successive notches blend into one motion; video, headings and frame lines follow that same movement. The up and down arrow keys move through the journey more quickly; hold a key to keep moving. Arrow keys inside the form retain their usual behavior. Touch scrolling stays native. The questions rotate through a central reading position; scroll back to revisit an answer. The up-to-30-sites count fills while the harbor entry footage advances, with the Roll-up guide linked below it. The closing presents the Seean wordmark, trial and live-demo actions without another video. On small screens, the footer logo meets the fixed header logo while the remaining links scroll into view.
Start free for 15 days stays in the upper-right header throughout the journey. Mobile header buttons use compact labels and generous touch targets. Portrait framing keeps the gull landing on its perch visible, the opening crew visible and the closing wordmark and actions within the frame; the frame lines adapt to that layout. The pricing link opens the dedicated volume selector, and the homepage signup fields continue to the existing signup form. Product, documentation and legal links remain in the footer.
In the animated presentation, the opening shows the first video frame and stays still until you scroll. In the foggy lighthouse scene, the distant sailboat stays in place while a keeper points toward it and his companions look across the water. Scrolling controls the videos in both directions; there is no opening autoplay. The opening video is requested together with the page itself, before any script runs, so it begins preparing immediately; the dashboard screenshots load at low priority behind it. After the page loads and the opening film finishes downloading, the remaining four films download one at a time in the background. The five films total about 18.2 MB on desktop for the whole visit; phones and touch devices receive 1280×720 versions of the four voyage clips and download about 12.1 MB. Safari, iPhone and iPad, and browsers with hardware HEVC decoding receive HEVC versions of the voyage clips, which are about 40 % smaller at the same quality; every other browser keeps the H.264 files. Every film carries a keyframe every half second, so scrubbing backwards or jumping ahead decodes at most twelve frames per step. Film and screenshot files have content-hashed names and are cached for a year; a changed film gets a new name, so a returning visitor never sees a stale version. Downloaded files are retained for that visit so returning to an earlier scene does not download them again. Supported browsers prepare nearby films from this shared download, so scrolling does not repeatedly restart its network request. Frames become available as the download progresses; browsers without this streaming support prepare the complete short film first. Only nearby films keep an active video buffer; moving away releases that buffer while retaining the compressed file. Leaving the page or enabling reduced motion clears these prepared files. On an initial visit, a brief “Preparing the scene…” message holds the opening in place until its film has a usable first frame, with a four-second limit and immediate release on a media error; direct section links and reduced motion bypass this wait. The opening has priority over background downloads; a later scene reached early can begin loading immediately. Background downloading does not hold the page closed until all films finish. On a slow connection, the plain background and the scene’s text remain available until video frames are ready, and the video catches up to your latest scroll position without needing a click. A fast scroll can still move past a scene before it downloads; the page does not lock navigation while waiting. If video loading fails, the scene retains the plain background and readable content instead of a black video rectangle. If your device requests reduced motion, the content becomes a regular readable page without the long animated scroll track or video downloads. Reduced motion changes the homepage presentation only; it does not pause analytics collection.
When you share a Seean marketing or documentation link, its preview uses a still of the homepage’s lighthouse opening with the headline “Seean makes you seen.” It contains no account or visitor data. A service that already saved a link preview may keep the previous image until it refreshes its cache.
Appearance
Marketing and documentation pages use a centered reading layout on wide screens and adapt to the available width on phones. The shared header keeps sign-in and signup accessible without widening the reading content.
The app starts in light mode when no theme has been saved. Use the sun or moon icon at the top of the sign-in screen to switch between light and dark; it stays unboxed when hovered. Your choice is remembered in this browser and carries into the app. A saved System preference follows your device instead.
Dark mode uses a blue-grey background, a deeper sidebar and lighter cards and menus. The same palette applies across sign-in, your websites, reports and settings; light mode keeps its existing warm neutral palette. On sign-in, signup and password recovery, changing the theme reveals the new palette from the theme button while keeping your form entries. With reduced motion enabled or in browsers without view transitions, the theme changes immediately.
On desktop, a lighthouse illustration appears to the left of the form, with daytime and nighttime artwork matching the theme. On smaller screens, the illustration is hidden to keep sign-in controls easy to reach. The same layout and theme control are available during signup, email verification and password reset.
Sign-in methods
Use email and password, Google or GitHub through the available sign-in controls. Password signup requires 12-128 characters. If an external sign-in is cancelled or you are offline, return to the form and retry. When Google or GitHub sends you back without completing sign-in, the form says that the sign-in couldn’t be completed; choose the same button again. After a successful return, Signing you in… stays on screen until your workspace opens. Opening an old sign-in link while you are already signed in leaves your session as it is. If creating an account fails for an email you already signed up with, sign in or use Forgot password?.
Google and GitHub return to the approved Seean address where you started signing in. Email/password sign-in, signup, verification, code resend and password reset stay in that same environment; the workspace link in verification/reset emails uses it too. Keep the original browser and tab open to enter your code. An approved local preview returns to that preview while the local server is running; an unapproved return address is rejected.
If Seean asks you to sign in again after a service update, use your existing sign-in method. Your account and websites stay linked to that account.
Verify email
Enter the eight-digit verification code sent to your account email. Codes expire after ten minutes. Billing and emailed reports require a verified account email. If a code is invalid or expired, request a new one through the sign-in flow.
Reset a password
Choose Forgot password?, submit your email and follow the reset-code form. For account privacy, the form does not confirm whether an email belongs to an account.
Profile
Open Account from the user menu. The page lists its sections on the left - Your account, Preferences, Agent access, Public profile and Delete account - with your name and email above them; on small screens the list becomes a dropdown. The selected section is kept in the address (?tab=preferences), so a link can open a section directly, and the older #agent-access and #public-profile links still open theirs. Your account shows your email, a read-only Account ID to quote when contacting support, and the sign-in methods linked to the account (email and password, Google, GitHub). Enter a Name of up to 80 characters and choose Save; Saved confirms the change. The name is shown to team members instead of your email.
Profile photo
Choose Choose photo (or Change photo once one is set) under Profile photo and pick a PNG, JPEG or WebP file of up to 5 MiB. The photo, or your initials until one is uploaded, also appears beside your name above the section list. Your browser resizes it to at most 256 × 256 pixels, keeps its proportions and converts it to a PNG thumbnail without the original photo’s metadata. Only that thumbnail is uploaded, with a server limit of 300 KiB. Photo saved confirms the upload; the preview updates immediately. The thumbnail loads from Seean’s own file server. Unsupported, oversized or unreadable files show an error and leave your existing photo in place.
The uploaded photo appears in your account and on your public profile when that profile is enabled. It is optional. Replacing it deletes the previous stored thumbnail; Remove photo deletes the uploaded thumbnail. Deleting your account also deletes it. A sign-in provider’s account image is managed separately.
Publicly shared thumbnails can be downloaded by visitors. Disabling your public profile stops listing the photo; use Remove photo to delete the stored file. Previously downloaded copies cannot be recalled.
Preferences
Preferences apply to every website you open in this account and save as soon as you choose a value.
- Default period is used when a report link does not name a period. It offers the same options as the date range menu; Last 30 days (default) clears the preference. Links that include
?range=keep their own period. The very first page load of a session shows 30 days until the saved preference arrives. - Display time zone defaults to your browser’s zone. Choose any zone from the list, or Browser time zone to clear the preference. It defines the calendar days of every report you open while signed in: date presets, the custom calendar, daily chart buckets, chart notes, the conversion peak and the computed-period times, on every website you can access. Changing it starts new calculations for calendar-day reports. Shared links, widgets, public profiles, CSV timestamps, scheduled reports and the API stay on UTC; see one time zone for every report.
Team members
Website access is limited to the websites you own or have been invited to. A website role or API key does not grant access to Seean’s platform administration, other customers’ accounts or cross-customer storage information. Administrative routes and their data requests enforce this separately, including storage measurements for application records, cached analysis details and raw analytics.
A website belongs to the account that created it, the owner. The owner can invite other Seean accounts in Settings → Team under Project access. Invited teammates can view the website’s dashboard only: every report and the team list. They cannot manage settings, billing, exports configuration, API access or sites; a change attempt is refused with Viewers cannot change this website. Each website accepts up to 10 members. Members reach the website from the website switcher and Find, and it opens under the same address.
The owner keeps full access, and only the owner can delete the website. Members do not share the owner’s plan, usage meter or billing; the website’s traffic counts toward the owner’s plan as before. Your sites and Roll-up list the websites you own, the ones shared with you; shared websites appear in the switcher and Find.
Invite someone
In Settings → Team, enter an email address under Invite member and choose Send invite. Inviting requires a verified owner email, is limited to 20 invitations per hour (a refused invitation says how many seconds to wait), and is not available on the demo website. The invitation email carries a private link that expires after 7 days; only its hash is stored. Sending another invitation to the same address replaces the earlier one. Pending invitations are listed under Pending invitations with their expiry and can be revoked with Revoke before acceptance.
The recipient opens the link, signs in to Seean with the invited address (creating an account first if needed) and chooses Accept invitation. The page shows the website name before accepting, and explains when a link is invalid, expired or already used. Accepting with a different account is refused with the address to sign in with. The owner cannot accept an invitation to their own website.
Remove or leave
Members lists the teammates who can view the dashboard. The owner removes members with Remove. Members can leave a website themselves with Leave in the same list; leaving takes effect immediately and analyses the member started are no longer readable by them. Deleting a website removes its memberships and pending invitations; deleting your account removes your memberships on other people’s websites while their data stays with the owner.
Delete your account
Open the Delete account section of your account settings, export data you need, then type DELETE to confirm. The account and every website it owns lock immediately: collection, scheduled reports, traffic alerts, share links, public profiles, API keys, order connectors and team access stop, and Seean shows only a restore screen when you sign in. The confirmation email names the deletion date.
Deletion completes 14 days later. Until then, sign in and choose Restore account to unlock everything as it was; events sent while the account was locked are not recorded. After that, analytics records, integrations, report files and sign-in data are deleted and cannot be restored. Websites shared with you as a member are not deleted; your membership on them is removed. Encrypted recovery copies follow the separate retention schedule in the privacy policy.
You do not need to cancel your subscription first. Seean stops its renewal, retrying automatically if the payment provider is briefly unavailable: a paid plan is not charged again and ends at the close of the period already paid, without a refund for the remaining time. Restoring the account within the 14 days turns renewal back on. A subscription with a failed payment is ended when the deletion completes. Invoices remain available from Polar.
This is different from deleting just one website. For unresolved access problems, contact support without sending passwords or verification codes.
If your session expires while a report is failing, the app clears the old report error and returns to sign-in. A fresh sign-in is still required; retrying a report does not extend an expired session.
Agent access and public profile
Account → Agent access creates workspace API keys for websites you own. Choose read-only traffic, separate revenue access or specific management permissions. Existing site keys stay limited to their original site.
Public profile is off by default. Select owned websites, a permanent handle, public display name and period, then explicitly enable it. Revenue and existing shared-dashboard links each have a separate switch. See public profiles for exactly what becomes visible.
