Shared dashboards and widgets

Share links let someone view a website’s read-only Overview without signing in. Widgets embed a small card - a live badge, visitor counter, KPI strip or the visitors chart - on your own website with an iframe. Both live under Settings → Sharing. Sharing is available to owners and admins only.

Create a link

Open Settings → Sharing.
Pick an expiry - Expires in 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or Never expires (the default) - and choose Create link.
Copy the generated URL and send it to the intended recipient.

Anyone with that URL can use it. Treat it as access to the shared analytics rather than a public site address.

Each website supports up to 20 links and widgets combined. No share links yet means none have been created. If creation fails, read the error before retrying; revoke an unused link if the website has reached its limit. If clipboard access fails, copy the visible link manually.

Expiry and renewal

Each row shows expires or never expires. The deadline is checked every time the link is used, so an expired link stops working at that moment without a background job: the share page shows This link has expired, and any analysis the recipient still has open reports the link as unavailable. Expired rows are greyed in the list; choose Renew for… and pick 7, 30 or 90 days or Never to reactivate the same URL with a new deadline. Renewal keeps the token, so a recipient who already has the URL can use it again - revoke and create a new link if the audience should change.

What recipients can see

The share page shows the read-only Overview for the linked website and its available date ranges. Use the date dropdown in the header to change the displayed period; its menu follows the page theme and supports keyboard selection. It does not grant settings access or ownership of the account.

On narrow screens, long website names are shortened with an ellipsis so the date selector stays within reach.

Browser, OS and device rows use the same icons and fallback badges as the signed-in Overview.

A share link is not a team invitation; use team invitations to give a person their own sign-in.

The shared Overview includes traffic KPIs, net revenue and order count, the visitor chart, and page, source, country, device and event summaries. There is no separate switch to hide revenue from a link. Chart notes never appear on shared pages or widgets. Review the shared page before distributing access. Recipients cannot use the link to open the account’s settings or raw CSV export controls.

Links have no password prompt. The recipient can change the available date range; a link is not a frozen snapshot of the period you viewed when creating it.

Widgets

The Sharing card has two views: Share links and Widgets. Widgets hold one embed token per website and the options that shape it:

Embeds - Create embed issues the token; Revoke deletes it and every page using it stops showing the widget.
Widget - a gallery of designs rendered with your last 30 days in the theme you are using: Live badge (Powered by Seean plus visitors active in the last two minutes), Live pill (compact “online now”), Visitor counter (visitors in the period with a sparkline), Visitors vs previous period (visitors and the change against the previous period), KPI strip (visitors, visits, views, bounce rate, session time, always one row - choose the tiles for narrow columns), KPI tiles (four tiles for narrow columns), Visitors chart (visitors per day), Top pages, Top sources, Top countries (five rows with bars) and Shield badge (a README-style badge with the visitor total).
Accent color - a hex colour for the live dot, chart line and sparklines; pick it or type it (the default is the Seean blue).
Theme - System follows the visitor’s setting; Light and Dark are fixed.
Embed code - the iframe snippet. Widget, accent and theme are query parameters of the iframe URL, so changing an option updates the code without a new token; pages that already embed the old URL keep their old look until you paste the new code.
Link expiry - choose 7/30/90 days or never and Save expiry; Regenerate token replaces the token (old embeds stop working) with the chosen expiry.

The preview below renders the real widget with your website’s last 30 days as you change the options. The embed code looks like:

Choose Copy to copy the snippet, then paste it into your page. Each design lists its height in the gallery (from 40 for the shield badge to 360 for the chart); adjust it to your layout. Change ?range= to any dashboard range key such as 7d, 90d or mtd - every design except the live badge and pill shows the current period for that key. Widgets paint no page background of their own, so they sit on your page’s colour, and each carries a Powered by Seean link.

A widget token is a share token with a display configuration. The iframe page shows only the chosen card, but the counter, strip and chart read the same Overview analysis a share link reads (the live badge reads only the active-visitor count), and the token can be taken from the iframe source. Opening a widget token on the share page only shows a pointer back to the widget; do not use widgets if the website’s Overview numbers must stay private. Revoke a widget like a link when a page stops using it.

Widget loads share the site’s public analysis budget with share links and demo visitors who are not members of the demo: at most two analyses run at once and a burst of twenty new analyses per website, refilling at thirty a minute. A page that embeds several widgets or receives heavy traffic can briefly see Your current analyses are still running or Too many analyses were started for this website. Try again in N seconds.; the notice retries once by itself after that wait, and Retry analysis remains available. Loads within the same hour reuse one analysis where possible, and an analysis already computed in the last five minutes is reused without spending the budget. Shared pages and widgets use UTC calendar days regardless of the viewer’s zone, so every visitor shares the same analysis.

Framing rule

The app refuses to be framed everywhere except /embed/: that path is served with Content-Security-Policy: frame-ancestors * and without X-Frame-Options, so any site can embed a widget. Share pages, the dashboard and sign-in keep frame-ancestors 'none' and X-Frame-Options: DENY.

Revoke access

Choose Revoke beside a link, or Revoke in the Widgets card, and confirm. That URL stops granting access; other share links remain independent. If a link reaches an unintended audience, revoke it and create a replacement for the intended recipients.

An invalid or revoked URL shows This link is no longer valid (share page) or This widget is no longer available (embed). Revocation prevents further access but cannot remove screenshots or data the recipient already copied.

Imported history and public profile links

Unfiltered shared overviews and widgets include accepted complete imported days. Missing source metrics show -, and daily visitors retain the source counting definition. Realtime counts use recorded live events only.

Owners may publish an existing shared-dashboard link from their public profile. That setting is independent from profile revenue visibility: a full shared dashboard can show revenue. Disabling the profile does not revoke the underlying link.
