Import from DataFast

Use a DataFast website API key to bring daily traffic into your own Seean website. The import reads DataFast; it does not change your source website.

Start an import

  1. Create a website API key in DataFast with analytics read access. Use a key beginning df_; account tokens beginning dft_ are not supported by this importer.
  2. In Seean, open the matching website → Settings → Data → Import history and choose DataFast.
  3. Enter the key, From (UTC) and Through (UTC) dates. The end date is inclusive; choose completed days.
  4. Choose Import DataFast history. Keep the page open until downloading completes. Validation and publication then continue in the background.
  5. Wait for ready, check added/skipped days and compare representative pageview totals against DataFast with the same UTC date range.

The key is cleared from the form after the attempt. It is used only during that request, never saved in the import record, source snapshot or background task. You may revoke it in DataFast after downloading finishes. See DataFast’s authentication guide and time-series API contract.

Data and limits

Daily visitors, pageviews and sessions are imported as visitors, views and visits. Source daily visitor counts are summed across days. Bounce rate and duration are unavailable, so periods containing these days display - for those metrics. Revenue, payments, goals, funnels, hourly/realtime history and breakdown snapshots are not imported.

The request explicitly uses UTC. Existing ready imports for this website must also use UTC. Up to 3,660 selected days are supported, with at most five paginated requests, 1 MiB per response and a 20-second timeout per request. Shorten the range if the provider cannot return it within these bounds. No automatic retry loop runs against your key.

DataFast imports always fill gaps: the request date range chooses which days are fetched, and fill-gaps rules skip previously imported days, days containing live Seean events, and incomplete days. The replace and source-day controls of file imports do not apply; remove the earlier import to re-import a range. Live events, orders and saved reports stay intact. The standard ten-import limit, one active import per website and three starts per hour apply.

Verify and recover

View rows shows validated daily counts, including skipped days. Download original downloads the retained JSON snapshot of those requested counts; it is not a raw visitor export or a copy of the API key. Failed API downloads have no saved snapshot. Successfully downloaded snapshots remain available if later processing fails.

An invalid/revoked key, rate limit, malformed response or incomplete pagination fails the import without partial dashboard publication. Read the displayed error, remove the failed import and retry after correcting the cause. Remove import removes its history and saved snapshot while preserving live data and previous saved reports.

See import scope for how accepted days appear in Overview, Roll-up, shared dashboards, reports and the analytics API.
