Sources
Open Overview → Sources to inspect how visitors reached the website.
Source tabs
| Tab | What it groups |
|---|---|
| Referrers | Referring hostnames, with Direct when no external referrer is available. |
| Channels | Campaign medium where supplied, otherwise a classification such as Search, AI, Social or Referral. |
| AI | Recognized referring hostnames from AI services. |
| Hostnames | Reported website hostnames receiving traffic. |
| Bots | Bot labels present in accepted records. |
Apply a referrer filter
Click a Referrers or AI row to filter the Overview. The source is a hostname, not the full referring page URL. A missing referrer can result from browser policies or a direct visit; Direct does not identify one particular acquisition method.
Limits
Classification depends on the recorded values. Traffic from an AI service that sends no recognizable referrer will not be identified as AI. Bot handling is limited and does not establish that every accepted visitor is human.
For deliberate link tagging, use campaigns. Read the AI referral guide for interpretation.
